What bullet weight does the 7mm mag seem to shoot best? Im looking for a whitetail and mulie bullet and think a 140 would do the trick but I have no expeirence with this cal
Im going to be loading the Nosler Accubonds and my choices are 140 or 160 gr.

Cheers!!

7mm

I have a custom built M70 by Bill Leeper, was out on the weekend at the range and with 140gr accubonds and 68gr of H4831 i was getting 3265fps and .350'' three shot groups, it's a new load for me but I was impressed I think even in a factory rifle you should get .6-.75 inches at 100 yards.

What are you going to hunt?

For white tail and mulie, you choices are fine. If you are going to add bear, moose and elk, then I would go to a 175 grn bullet.

I'd go with the 140s, pushed by H1000. 72 grains should give you around 3200 fps. Start low and work up slow

The 140's are a good choice, but that extra 200fps doesn't really buy you much point blank range, and the lower BC loses out in the mid/long range. Plus, there's less mass landing on target. I save the 140's for the 7mm08. I'm not much into the whole 'HYPEr-velocity' thang, 'cept for gophers
