Whatever I have on hand when the opportunity arises.

Within limits, calibre doesn’t matter as much as shot placement.
 
My mod 700 Mtn in 280Rem. All of these animals are potential targets within BC and part of the logic behind selecting the rifle 20 some years ago when I selected it off the shelf of the Wholesale Sports in north Edmonton.

Sorry I meant which caliber choice for each of the species individually, not collectively.

Although I'm sure there are plenty of do it all cartridges that would work just fine.
 
White Tail / Mule Deer? 6.5x55

Caribou? never hunted these, but I've seen plenty on canoe trips etc. I'd go with something versatile like 30-06 or 300wsm

Black Bear? 45-70 or 9.3x62

Brown Bear? never hunted these, but maybe 375h&h

Elk? never hunted these, but probably 300win or 338win

Moose? whatever is on hand - anything from 25-45cal

Bison? my car to drive to the butcher shop

Mountain Goat? yuck

Dall.Sheep / Stone Sheep? yuck

That's if I could afford a different rifle for every type of game. I tend to use 30-06, 300wsm, 38-55 and 45-70 for any and all my hunting.

Now I've only hunted a few of these but I was thinking I'd use the following from what I own.

White Tail / Mule Deer - 6.5x55 Swede

Caribou - .308 or 30.06

Black Bear - 30.06 or 45-70

Brown Bear - 338 WinMag or 375 H&H

Elk - 338 WinMag

Moose - 338 WinMag or 375H&H

Bison - 458 WinMag (so I can justify its use on North American Game).

Goat/Sheep - 338 WinMag from what I own but ideally a 7PRC or other hot 7mm of some type.

.308 for everything listed.
Already have taken several on the list with it.
Including one of the bigger.

Shot placement > gun proficiency > caliber choice.
