What can be done about this old Winchester model 69 extractor?

My grandfather's old Winchester 69 is failing to extract properly. The bullet case always gets stuck in the chamber and does not eject. (So I have to carefully pry it out with a knife every 3 or 4 shots or so.)

Here is a picture of the extractor assembly.
It looks quite worn.

Now, I have been casually shooting all my life, but I have never really done (or had done) any work on my firearms. I clean them often, and that is all I know how to do. My knowledge on repair is limited.

What do you guys think? Does it need new parts? Thanks for any help or advice.

It looks a bit worn, but not horrible. The left hand extractor is supposed to be a bit rounded while the right hand extractor is supposed to be sharp. During ejection the case is allowed to pivot because of the rounded LH extractor, the RH extractor holds the case.

Clean the chamber.
Clean the bolt face.
Clean the extractors, make sure the crud underneath is minimized.
Clean the notches in the barrel that the extractors go into.
Check the chamber, see if the firing pin has peened metal into the chamber opening. If there is peening then the chamber needs to be swaged, do not file the metal away.

The extractors look fine. Both pull the case out of the chamber, but the case has to flip out from under the LH extractor when it hits the ejector.
The solution is as outlined.

I would echo what was said above - for sure give that chamber a good cleaning - crap in there makes the extraction to be much more difficult than it needs to be. Under a strong light, a chamber wall should look shiny - some discussion whether smooth like a mirror or with visible striations - but clean to be shiny. A caution - from a rimfire rifle used by an acquaintance - he was digging out some cases because of extraction issues - chamber was filthy full of soot - I think that started the problem - then bore scope showed various nicks, etc. around the chamber entrance - was leaving scrape marks on the fired brass - so that did not help - was likely from application of jack knife or whatever to pry out the fired cases - then he stuck a small screw driver or something into the chamber to get crap out - raised ridges / groove - that no longer allowed cartridge to even go into the chamber. Barrels are not heat tempered hardened steel - do not expect them to be impervious to stuff.

Those neat old rimfires shoot shorts too.
I wonder if maybe this one ate'a plenty and the deeper chamber area is snawt full oh crud bit'in awn the long rifle brass?
Will it properly eject a live long round?
Will it properly eject a short shawt round?

Say it qwick, mayker fun............

Just further to the Model 69 Winchester...
I have one which was set up for small bore target shooting in the old Dominion Marksmen program. Lyman aperture sights. These were a less expensive alternative to Winchester's Model 75.
It runs like a champ and is very accurate.
I'll get it out and have a good look at the extractors, but I am pretty sure that the OP's are perfectly normal, and that the extraction difficulty is resulting from issues mentioned above.

Thanks. Don't feel obligated to investigate too closely though. I have put the entire extractor/bolt assembly into an ultrasonic cleaner and got it squeaky clean. Next weekend I will pay extra attention to the chamber. And I agree, these 69s are incredibly accurate. I only wish mine had a better mounting system for optics. The 4x that was already installed is not ideal. Even a dovetail mount would have been nice.

Found the two playful rascals and pulled the bolts.
Pictures aren't the bestest, but it duzz show the claws.
The one you have the arrow pointing to needs a bit of fine tewn'in.

As for mounting awpticks prawpurrly, I had a gunsmith groove the top receivers to fit rimfire rings.
Wuzzint too painfull and I have no collectors value in these two kritters.
