I recently removed the front iron sight on my TOZ-78. I now need to add a muzzle break or something to cover up the mess. What could I use? where should i look around for one? how do I mesure it? how much do they usually go for$$$ ? Would like this to be cheap, the rifle only cost 99$.

Im clueless

Depending on the diameter of the barrel you may be able to put on a Ruger 10-22 compensator or flash hider. Some can be found that slide on and are held on with a set screw.

Muzzle brakes go on the end of the barrel not over it. However, and I know it's a bit daft, FAL style flash hiders have a threaded or non-threaded tube that slides over the muzzle. The other option would be removing the sight part of the one you took off and putting its 'base' back on. Any machining, unless you can do it yourself, would cost you nearly what you paid for the rifle.

I was thinking you could just get a sleeve made that has the same outside diameter as the barrel and the inside diameter as the muzzle. Then have it tapped for a setscrew and install. It would be very thin, and may be a problem to tapp for a setscrew. You may need to get creative.

If you have a sleeve made as woodchopper sugested and it was a good slip fit it could be attached with loctite stud and bearing mount adhessive. I have used this product in the past and once it cures it is PERMANENT unless you heat it up with an acetylene torch.

Why don't you just cut and crown the barrel?

Losing one inch of barrel is not going to affect velocity to any degree of consequence, however the new crown will almost certainly improve the accuracy! :)
