Not even firing one before purchase or getting any info on them, I picked up a Ruger PC40 impulsively. It turned out to be quite accurate (depending on my coffee consumption) so I kept it, but now there's a problem in the barrel. There's damage (like a ring) about a quarter ways down from the muzzle, and to be safe, I need a new barrel. It hasn't been shot since. Already being a restricted rifle, is there any way to get a shorter barrel? Is it even worth it? Will accuracy be really affected? Will it end up being a long handgun? Can Dlask fix it? Does your girlfriend spit or swall...??? Just kidding, I'd like to know (about a shorter barrel). Thanks!

Why not get a 18.5"+ barrel and make it non-restricted?

If you want to go the shorter barrel route and remain restricted, you can have the existing barrel shortened and front sight reattached, recrowned etc. Either way, you'll be spending about the same cash.
