What can I expect to pay for a 20g Ithaca Mod 37 Featherlight?

Hi guys, I am being offered in a trade an Ithaca Mod 37 Featherlight 20g. with a 28" vent rib barrel chambered for 2 3/4". Serial # puts it as a 1973.

No rust, the blue on the barrel is 95% but partly worn off under receiver and rear of mag tube where it is carried. Wood has nearly perfect original finish with two very small dents. Original vented rubber butt pad is still soft and pliable.

The question is, what is a fair value for this gun before I decide to accept the trade.
 
I know where there is one in 12 gauge that appears like new aside from the fact it is used and as you say nearly 40 yrs old..
No vent rib though and it is listed for $399.00.
28 inch non vent rib and 2-3/4'' nice blonde wood on the gun too.
Supposed to be a soft shooter.

It's a later gun, so it will take the new barrels, if you ever want threaded chokes. The VR on a 20 is uncommon on an older 37. Great guns. I bought an as-new 20g mod 37 with plain barrel for $400 last month, if that helps. Some people have found them for less, but I'm not that lucky.
 
20 gauge always sells at a premium over 12 gauge in my experience. So, if a 12 is worth $400 or so, in top condition, you are probably looking at 20 percent more as a fair value for 20 gauge vent rib gun. Discount a bit for blueing wear on the receiver.
It would be even more popular if it had a Modified choke rather than fixed Full choke.

Any full choke can be opened to MOD for about $40-50, so if that is your goal, then a gun already at MOD is worth that much more.
 
Thanks for all the helpful input guys, I accepted the trade and got it for the equivalent of $250. I couldn't find any flaws on it, and aside for the worn blue under the receiver I can't imagine a newer looking 43 year old shotgun. I will have to measure the choke though as it doesn't appear to be stamped on the barrel.
