what can i use to soften primer sealant?

i have some m1 carbine military brass (headstamp reads "H P 7.62K"), which i cannot de-prime because of the stubborn sealant...

i use the lee sizing die and the decapping pin kept pushed back when i was trying to de-prime on the press.

The issue will be a crimp.

Take the pin and collet out of the die, degrease it and the collet it sits in. Put a bit of oil on the outside collet threads. Now put it back together, and, with two wrenches, tighten it back up forcefully.

Should take your primers out now.

also remove the crimp- that's covered several times in here- either with a crimp tool or swage it back- primer sealant has nothing to do with it

You can also use a Lee de-priming hand punch like the ones in the old Lee Loaders.
