Howdy,
was out on my farm an shot 4 shots out of my whelen to see where it was hitting as i felt i knocked it hard the other day on a hunt..

Seems to be fine, although my first shot was around 3.5 inch higher than my target, 2nd was around 2.5 and 3rd an 4th were at the 2 inch mark..

i've heard of Vertical stringing, but not so much going down the page..

just want to hear your guys thoughts...possible outcomes?

Rifle is stock ruger hawkeye, no mods.

Cheers
WL

When a rifle is not properly bedded, the shots can string down, as well as up, or sometimes at an angle.

The sight is a 2-7x33 leupold VX-II. so should be no troubles there (wasnt a terribly hard knock)

Im down to my last box of Factory Ammo, and im being a Tight-Ass, Im headin out on a Doe hunt tomorow afternoon, either way im not too concearned as for Deer hunting 2-3inch high @100 is fine for me, as i dont push the range too far.

I just thought id ask around to see the different reasons it could be.

Hey, it could be my shooting.....
but now i think of it i May have cleaned the bore after i shot a stag last week, therefore this would be the 2-5th shot, as i gave a fox the what for en route home from a stalk. i missed :> :D
