What choke does my Stevens 820B have?

Hello all, recently picked up a old 12 guage 820B since it was cheap and I've been looking to get a pump for a while. I mostly just shoot clays and pest control with my old single shot 12 guage so even a 85 dollar pump is a step up. Started cleaning the years or dirt out of it and inspecting it to ensure I was comfortable with it being reliable and safe to shoot, when I realized that there are no markings on it other than manufacturer, model, and shell size. Does that mean it's just a cylinder bore? or is there a method to measure it to find out if there is a choke?

Some of the old Savage/Stevens guns had choke markings rather than actual printed designations. My old shooters bible indicates they all had 28" barrels and were offered with FULL MOD and IMP CYL chokings. Some models had an adjustable choke called a "Super Choke". I would imagine yours is FULL (most were) and if so it will have a singe * stamped somewhere on the barrel. Another not so reliable method is to see if a dime will pass through the muzzle end. If it won't it is Full. BUT wear and tear has worked on these guns and I have seen FULL choked barrels let a dime through. Finally you can use a set of calipers and determiner the choke diameter by measuring.

The dime method is about as reliable as a 47 Studebaker. Use a micrometer and measure the inside of the muzzle. On the older guns like that .729-.730 was pretty standard bore size. A full choke usually ran around .695 or .35 points of constriction. Once you hit .40 or a bit more you are into extra full territory. so if your bore is .730 and your muzzle is too you are a true cylinder bore. At .731 to .733 you would be skeet. IC is about .10 points of constriction and Mod about .20-.25. Hope that helps.
Or you can use the most reliable and fun method. Grab a bunch of ammo and a roll of newsprint and hit the pattern board.

Perfect thanks for everyone's help it measures .689 at muzzle so definetly full choke then. Still will check pattern tomorrow maybe if I get the truckload of dirt out of it lol.
