I have a Browning Gold with mod and IC choke tubes.

What's better for sporting clays?

Should I get a skeet tube for skeet shooting?

To tell the truth I don't do much of either but I really should get out this summer prior to hunting season.

Duck and goose hunting is my primary interest.

Depends on how far away the targets are. Between those two I would pick IC. Skeet tubes are designed for skeet shooting but if you really do not plan to shoot much, IC will do.

For what it's worth I use two skeet tubes in my O/U for sporting clays. I notice a considerable difference when shooting with skeet tubes vs. IC

some time at a patterning board likely has the answer.

I have two shotguns I use in sporting, and have shot a couple of others. There can be quite a difference in shells and shotguns.

My main shotgun I shoot Cyl and Skeet, except for long crossers or fast/long trap targets when I shoot IC. It is "tight" for the choke.

Another I shoot Skeets for targets to 35 yards - and Light modified for targets beyond.

Promotional shells in my experience have a "loose" pattern likely due to softer shot.

I find winchester AA, and Kent/Gamebore to pattern a bit tighter.

All of this means little to you - other than you need to find out what yours likes.

Good shooting.

IC will handle almost every Sporting target out there. Screw it in and forget about it. Concentrate on the targets and having a good time. Later on, if Sporting becomes more than a warm up for hunting, you'll discover all the tech stuff to to try and boost the target tally. For now , get to know your gun and blast away.
