Is there a relatively common, good-looking, non-descript case for bolt action rifles with the stock and barreled action separated?

A bit like this:

With room for a scope or two.

Something airline capable preferably for travel when hunting abroad and to discourage theft.

Americase makes an aluminum for takedown rifles/shotguns. An Italian company makes the Blaser factory hard cases, which look sort of like the first picture you have up. I forget the name at the moment, but they're not airline approved.

I'd say your best bet is a Pelican 1700. They're the most durable and you can customize the foam interior to what you plan to put in it. They are relatively heavy and bulky, but you can't get durability any other way.

Seems like a lot of work and effort to break down a bolt action for travel. Why not just a regular full size gun case?

Will 26" x 12" x 7" work for you?
If so, get yourself an inexpensive SKB Alto Sax case and reconfigure the innards. Slap on some stickers from the music store and nobody will know what you are totin'.

Last time I traveled with a rifle, I mailed it ahead. This will save you the $50 each way AC charges for guns and allow to to travel with another bag.

Try a shotgun case for break action shotguns. I find them very handy, much more so than using a full lengthy shotgun case. I'm sure you could find one to configure to your purposes.

Other than the special tag on it indicating that its a firearm. I know lots of people believe disguising their firearm case is a good idea but I don't think anyone is fooled.....at least the baggage handlers aren't
