Hey guys,

What competition holsters is everyone using for IPSC?

Im looking to change over from the Rescomp to the Ghost but was wondering if there is something better out there or if a certain model has better retention than others

I had some retention issues with the Rescomp.

Hey DS,

This is a little off topic, but it just hit me.
(I should have thought of it in the other thread - DOH!!!)

I'd be happy to set up that CR for you for whatever gun you want.
(I'll borrow some one's SP-01 and I certainly have plenty of 2011s to do it)

And I'll make sure you're happy about it's retention!

It might even have a defective piece, of which - I can fix - n/c.

Wanna send it to me?

Sean.

I have tried a few holsters my favourite for Open is the ghost, but I do have a CR which I will be using for my production gun....still have to buy one ;) I also used a Guga (the slicker of them all, very smooth release)but drop my Open gun once too many time, but it does work fine for me in standard. The worst I have is a safariland 012 which you need to play with the screw all the time.....

Which holster did you drop your open gun from and was it holster error or your error.

Was the Guga and it was my fault due to the location I keep breaking the lock.....I like my gun well forward in open....like I said that holster is very nice in standard division position...

I like the Speedsec and recently I am using the Ghost. The CR is a good holster as well, lots of ways to set it up, infinitely adjustable. World Champion Eric Grauffel uses one, as does quite a few other higher end shooters. Angus Hobdell uses a Ghost. I think the Speedsec is sold under a few different names in the US.

Maurice, the Speedsec is sold I think by Frank Garcia, in the USA; not sure of the name he has on it. If not CR Speed I would have to say Ghost, but remember there's good feeling having a muzzle support on the gun. Alot of times I have read that when shooters lose their guns out of the holster its a bump to the muzzle that pops it out of the holster. Needless to say if you make good habit to activate the lock and use it religiously, you should be fine.
