Am looking to purchase a Mossberg 20 gauge shotgun, the models Im interested in are #54301-#54300 or the #54318. As a senior I don't want that 12 gauge recoil anymore so I'm downsizing to the 20 gauge. Problem, I have look everywhere on line for a Canadian Dealer & I can't find any:(. I guess maybe their not legal in Canada, but, go figure I can buy a 12 gauge no problem. If anybody can shed some light on this I would be a happy camper:). Thanks

Just took a look at two of our Mossberg wholesaler's and neither of them list the models you are after.

The only listing I see for a tactical 20 gauge is the model 54303 - but that has a funky coloured stock :)

Might have to find a Mossberg dealer and special order one - there is nothing that I can see in the models you are interested in that would prevent selling one in Canada, just might not be regularly imported because of low demand. Sometimes it sucks to be in Canada. Our wholesalers/importers only bring in stuff 1) they expect will sell or 2) was pre-ordered by vendors back in December when they submitted their "want lists".

Thanks galamb, I guess I will keep looking, but it's annoying that were treated as second class citizen in Canada.

It would help if anyone reading your posts had an idea of your location.

Hi sixgun1, I'm residing in Prince George BC, I hope that helps, and yes cdn1canhunt these are the 500 Series shotguns , I was almost thinking to buy that #54303 muddy girl shotgun and strip it down & put a new stock and forend on it & for the life of me who would put that colour on a shotgun, they must of had really bad night..

The specific models the OP listed are Model 500 "tactical" shotguns and two of the main Mossberg wholesalers available to crappy tires "do not" even list the models he is after.

On occasion I have asked REDL Sports (BC wholesaler that only deals with vendors) to bring something in "special" that is not in their (catalog) and they will often do it, but often it takes "months" - just received a rifle that was "special ordered" back in September (2015) within the last week (and this was a "find on any shelf in the US, not something exotic or rare/limited production) - so sometimes you really have to want it and be really patient if it's not a "typically stocked" item in Canada.

At least with Browning, if they have in stock in the US, we can get it in 4-6 weeks - others, not so much...

Thanks to all that listen to my rambling, I was on the phone for a hour today phoning all the stores in bc, EUREKA'' I found one in Kelowna at the Mossberg dearler, they had one 20 gauge still in the box in back, it took them half a hour to verify the model number, $699.00 plus shipping, now it will be up to Canada post to deliver, any bets there, so it's now ordering some Ammo for it. So once again Thank you . Tally ho it's off to the range when Canadian post delivers?
