Just wondering from what distace you guys shoot your .22's? 15 yards? 25? 50? 100? farther?

For me the longer the better; but my only rimfire is 597 and it's not exactly what I call accurate at 100yards (~4in), so sometimes I shoot at 50yards that way targers look nicer :)

I realize many have more than one .22 so pick the distance you shoot at most of the time.

Handgun 3 yards to 50 yards cheap ipsc practice. If for # rounds fired 7 yards. Rifle 25 yards diopter sights.

Rifle I use for 3 gun with subcaliber insert 3 yards to 50 yards mostly 25 yards.

Rifle with mildot scope 25 yards to 300 yards. Mostly 300 yards as I have a gong set up at that range and I am too lazy to walk back and forth to the target.

50 yards at the range, and just about anything goes out in the bush or field. Although in the bush most of the shots are at very close range, like about 30 feet or less.

For position shooting (standing, kneeling, prone) I mainly shoot at the official distance of 50m. For benchrest our club usually shoots at 100 yards. So about a 50/50 mix between the two. Only time I shoot 20 or 25 yards is for the online matches on here.

I shoot a lot at 50 and 100 meters, but occasionally will take it out to 200 just for the fun of it. I have shot some respectable groups at 200, but the wind has to be nil to accomplish a lot at long range with a 22 LR rimfire. Regards, Eagleye.

Generally 25 yards, but thats because I most frequently shoot my .22 rifles indoors during the winter. The main issue with my location is wind. That being said I can nail the gongs at 200 yards with excellent consistency providing the wind isn't too bad and isn't changing a lot. It's a lot of fun.

All my .22's are sighted in for 50 meters but sometimes I shoot gophers out to 100 meters. Anything farther away and my buddy can blast them with his 17HMR.
