Hey, I am currently purchasing a restricted firearm I have my reference number for the person, I am not sure what I do from here.
What number do I call in Ontario and do I just give them the number and they know what to do?

Thanks

Ya, I pretty much just called with the reference number and they did the rest. Its the normal RCMP firearms centre number: 1 800 731-4000
Someone else can provide you with more detailed info, but basically, call the number, talk to the lady, give her the number and they do the rest.

edit: oops you prolly need to have this post moved to the help forum, not here in the rifle forum :)

If you received the number from the CFC, contact the seller and provide them the reference number. They'll contact the CFC and complete the transfer. Once it's approved you'll both receive notification in the mail and the firearm can be shipped or handed over.

If you received the ref number from the seller, contact the CFC yourself to complete the transfer.

Yep, call the 1-800 number given above, follow the automated system by pushing the buttons that apply, you will be directed to a representative. Say you are completing a transfer, she will ask for a reference number, she will then direct the transfer to the CFO for approval. Depending on the CFO and province, this could be overnight, this could be a few weeks.

After approval, have seller ship firearm to you or you pick firearm up.

This applies for buying in a private sale. If buying from a dealer, you will not have to complete the transfer as the dealers are authorized to complete it on your behalf.
