Well, yet another folly in the gun world, I had bought a drilling some time ago, nice gun, even had it up for sale. Well not any more...
I noticed the firing pin for the rifle was sticking out a bit. Well it turns out the rifle barrel firing pin was broken, not to big of deal. Then again I spoke too early. When disassembled I saw no less than 5 cracks in the wrist area of the drilling. Holly crap! 2 were open and only had to be glued and clamped. Nooo.... The wood is so brittle it has no structural strength left. I am fortunate that I believe the drilling could be fired again.
So what can be done to reinforce the wood structure? Is there are resin or poly that can penetrate? these are small in nature?
