Grabbed a Stevens 200 in 06 a few weeks ago. Went to the range this morning and at 50 yards first two shots are touching and following 2 or 3 shots are spraying 1.5 - 2.5" apart. My scope according to my boresighter is still at same POI. After taking it home, i noticed the barrel is just kissing a bit of the barrel channel. What i did was dremel/file it so now the barrel isn't touching any of the stock from the barrel nut out to the muzzle. I also made sure the pillar mount bolts were tightened. The rear one closest to the trigger was questionable and needed some tightening.

............Haven't made the trek out to try it again and won't be able to till next week. Would a bit of the stock toughing the barrel effect it that much if that was the case??

First 2 shots could have heated up the barrel a bit, causing it to flex and press against the stock a bit more, causing your flyers.

And if your action screws arent' tight, the problem coudl be compounded. The Stevens I have had shoot just fine, so I bet yo found your problem.:)

I recently had the same problem with a Savage - didn't check the barrel for float after taking off the stock, and the groups were anywhere between an inch and a half to 3 and a half; fixed the barrel contact and the next 3 groups went into a bit more than an inch, with one at .7".
