what do you find more accurate a VZ or an AK

I don't have one.:(
I guess i never will unless i move to africa or something

but have used(on the range mind you) and been trained on them over the years , a few YUGOSLAV models, an an east german 74, a few chinese, AKM ,and a romanian model, mind you these were not exactly prime examples. i was always curious as to how a 5.56 model ran....mind you the 308 valmet would be pretty darn accurate, as the tolerences wouldn't be as loose

Well obviously we can not know until the moronic regulations against taking our prohib long guns to the range are lifted.

I have the Norinco knock-off which hasn't been out to the range for a few years (and won't be until the CPC wins a majority gov't and then we REALLY put the screws to them to change these idiotic laws).

Friend of mine has a VZ.

Would be easy to have each of us fire EACH weapon and compare targets.

I have shot a few varities of the AK's and the CH858 and Vz58. I prefer the Vz58. The Vz58 has a very nice trigger and is very accurate for this type of rifle. We took one out of the box and offhand got very good groupings at 170 yards.

Trigger, handling and accuracy I would choose the Vz58.

Quit acting like a ####. :runaway:
I wasn't being a ####, I was asking which version of the AK he was comparing the VZ to. There's a big difference between, say, Valmet or Galil and some el cheapo Chinese variant.

i didn't think a Valmet or a Galil were considered aks in that sense are the parts all interchangable ?
I guess they are AKs in a sense that they are all based on the same original design...I'm not sure about parts interchangeability. But even if we are talking about exact clones of the original AK or AKM, there's a great degree of variance in terms of quality and therefore accuracy depending on the country of manufacture. That’s why it may be difficult to do an across the board comparison between the VZ (which was manufactured by just one factory) and the entire range of AKs, which are manufactured all over the world.

Every Valmet I've fired has been extremely accurate, from the M series to a Hunter in .308... matter of fact, my most accurate shooting came from a .223 Valmet.

The GALIL's as well.

That being said, I still prefer a good Euro AK to the VZ. The Hungarian ones come to mind, as does the Zastava Arsenal Yugo.

I think the CZ-58 is a Walther P38 that ran into a FN FAL...

The ammo is most of the problem -- but I think that regardless unless you have a Valmet or Galil your not going to do much better than 3MOA

heck the Serb M21 is a 4MOA 5.56mm Galil...
