Hey guys, what do you do in that case? I have not seen a manual yet that has loads for .310-.311" bullets in a 7.62x54r. All they have .308 bullets. The closest i have found in in the seira book for my imr 3031 powder but still .308" bullets.

I have yet to shoot any of the loads i made, but I loaded the min and two more sets .5 and 1 grain above the min.

I think that since i am not close to the max it will be fine, just have to watch for pressure.

What do you guys do/think?

Latest Hornady does, well .312 as thats what they make .I wouldn't worry data wise start at 80% max and work your way as usual looking for preasure signs........The Finn .308 version is called 7.62x53R only difference is bore dia from the Soviet version.....Harold Do you want some data?

For 123gr .310 bullet IMR 3031/48gr MAX for 3000fps/Norma Brass,Start at about 45gr and work up.Harold

Harold, thanks for the heads up, I never realised that the Finns bore diameters were smaller. I now have to go and measure some bores.
I find it strange that they made this change, they sure used a huge amount of captured Soviet ammunition in their rifles. I watched a documentary recently that showed the piles of equipment and food stuffs they captured from the Russians. It was phenomenal. The fellow stated that there was enough material to equip 250,000 men and animals for more than a year in all weather conditions. The only thing lacking was decent winter boots and socks. Possibly because so many were issued and stayed with the dead.
I wonder what their reasoning was for this decision to go to a smaller bore?

Any ideas or knowledge would be appreciated.

thats a good question, i don't know the awnsers but the finns also floated the barrels and changed out the front sights to a blade (not sure if they did all but they did alot).

They had something in mind for those, accuracy wise.
