Hi gunnutz! I have been shooting the Bushnell 3200,5-15X40 Tactical on my Remington 700XCR Tactical in .308, The last year or so. And it shoots wonderfully out to 1000yds. The crosshairs are a tad thick there, but it works. The adjustments are consistant, and repeatable. I Have used it to shoot some real nice groups! Not bad for a cheaper line of scopes! Great value as far as I'm concerned!

I am wondering if any of you guys have had experience with the 6500,4.5-30X50 Tactical? I like the higher power option! My crosshairs will be nice and thin again at 20 power or so. 30 power is a bit much, but a nice option none the less!

Let me know any good, "AND BAD" points you guys have had with them. Its always better to know the full bredth of experiences!

Have fun guys, and Straight Shoot'in!

There have been lots of comments on this scope over the years. I have one and still use it (on a .223) and I generally like the Elite series and think they are good value. To be honest though I think the 4200 Tactical 6-24x50 (of which I have had several and still run on on a 300WM) is the better value for money. The 6500 used to run about a grand - don't know what the current price is - and for that $ there are better options ( My Sightron Sii 10-50X56 is about $1200 and is the superior scope ). The 4200 I mentioned is about $700 and at that price point remains good value.

Overall glass and repeat-ability pretty good but limited internal adjustment ( can be overcome with slanted rail of course ).

If this is just another scope for you it may be that you want to keep to a certain price point but if this is THE scope for THE rifle then save some more cash and move up. If 30 mag is what you want consider NXS 8-32x56. More cash ( of course) but you won't regret the purchase.

I would love to scope this rifle with a Mark4,or Night Force optic!but I already have two, andcant justify the extra $500-1000. Correction, "I"can justify it, but my Wife cant! Lol! You are absolutely right, I would pefer top end optics, but for now, I think the 6500will fill the bill for standard long range shooting. Not competitive shooting mind you. Have you heard of any quality issues with this scope Tomochan?

I haven't seen any quality issues with the one I run - it sat on a TRG for a while and now sits on a .223 and still works just fine after about 2 or maybe three years of use - 500 or so rounds of .308 and another couple of hundred rounds of .223

i have one. i don't think you can buy anything better, especially at a sale price of 749. i would have suggestes earlier that you go to your local wss and purchase either the 4200 or 6500 at 20% off, but the sale ended last sunday.

Tomochan,

could you tell me where is the SII a superior scope.

due to the 56 mm or something else ..???:::

the lenses and those optics are coming from the same factory so i need to know more.

all the best.

I have one on my Savage 110 BA in 338 Lapua. Gun packs a punch and the scope takes it just fine. Very accurate so far. The only thing you may find with a more expensive scope by say Swarovski, Leupold, Schmidt & Bender or some of the others is the clarity of the optics as far as I know. That clarity comes in hand at longer ranges. But for the price right now I'd buy another Bushnell Elite.

So far I have one complaint with this scope.
The advertised elevation adjustment range is 80MOA.
The "ACTUAL" adjustment range is 53MOA +/- 1/2MOA!
This is a Blatantly misleading( lying claim)!
Thats about 34% less than advertised!
Wow!
The scopes clear, and seemingly well built.
If Bushnell is in fact misleading the consumer like that, what else are they not telling us
Does anyone know of "any" of these scopes having the full advertised range of adjustment?

I findthe bushnell web site hard to find the info I want. Where did you find the 80 MOA adjustment? I can only see adjustment of 50. The Elites that I own or have looked at always seem to suffer from limited elevation and windage adjustment.

How do you like the scope. How does it compare to the 4200. I have a 4200 in 8 x 32 40 and wondered if this scope offered any real difference in optics quality?

EDIT: oh yeah. I found it. 80 MOA adjustment.

EDIT: Oh no I did not, I was looking at the tactical 10 x 40. LOL!

One negative thing I found with my 6500 was after running the elevation all the way to the top stop, when I came back down to my 100m zero, the POI was about one and a half MOA out of alignment. So, make sure you have enough elevation on your scope mount to avoid this situation.

I have the 6500T 4x30x50 (sale priced) and the 2.5x16x44 and a 4500T 6x24x50 and my only complaint for the price is that the crosshair is too heavy at the center. More moa would be great too but I think the new models will have more than the ones on sale right now. Good value for the $$$.

I have two that I have used in the past for long range - one with tactical knob and rainguard and a model one year older with no tactical knobs or rainguard.

At the time, I found them both to be quite good value. Both of mine we essentially ~24x scopes. When magnification was turned to 30x, both of my scopes lost all usable clarity in all but complete zero mirage and perfect lighting situations.

I looked through a sightron at the range last week and was quite impressed. Provided a better image compared to the two 6500s that I have.

I have a couple of 6500s and they have not failed me, I have moved them from hard kickers to Varmint guns and back again, with no problems. I don't know about the amount of clicks as that is not important to me, a big scope that takes a beating for less money, what's not to like!

I don't know who is advertising this scope as an 80 MOA scope but it's not Bushnell.
As far as I can see it is advertised as a 50 MOA scope.

You're comparing the old model to the specifications of the new model.
