I recently got my XCR-L and just got a Vortex pst 1-4x scope and mount for it. I think i am going to get a sling and a grip/bipod for it. Just interested in seeing what you guys have done to yours. Others feel free to post your rifles too if you feel inclined to do so. Happy shooting.

Nice setup :D.

Have you ran it through the break in period? If so how's the locking spring in the FAST stock holding up through .308 recoil? Noticed it getting weaker yet or still the same spring strength?

Thanks, I really like it, sitting about 220rnds down the pipe of Remington UMC and no loose bolts or rattles to date. I have not locktite'd anything. As for .308 recoil, I believe Robinson Arms has managed it well in its gas system design and muzzle break. Felt recoil at the buisness end is very light in regards to a .308, Im comparing to my memories of the FNC1, HK93/91 & M14. The stock is still solid, and to be honest I realy kinda like the FAST stock. I think it suites the rifle well for the purposes I bought it for (coyotes, hunting and to take on horseback ), and it fits nicely in the scabard on my saddle.

I have not personaly experianced any of the negatives I have heard from others in regards to the XCR's.......and I am not locktighting anything until i notice a problem if I ever do. Everything is torqued to spec and seems to be holding fine???? Must have caught the Armorer on a good day, my rifle seems tight. Or Robinson Armament is listening and making improvements to the rifles as bugs are detected. I am not using it as a precision rifle, but I do intend to see what I can do with it out to about 800yrds. When weather and work cooperates I will give it a shot and post the results.

I have absolutely no #####es with this rig, and believe me, I would tell ya if I did. This is the first factory built rifle that makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I hold it, and that says alot as it usually takes a finely tuned custom built precision rifle to make me feel warm and fuzzy. ;)

Honestly having gotten to know you a bit LRC I was pleasantly suprised to see a Vortex on it and not Nightforce ;). Going to leave the Viper on it when you stretch it's legs?

Glad to hear the rifle is treating you well. I've been curious as to how the FAST holds up on the M.

When I had hands on it I forgot to pop it open, I hear that the milling for the stock is a bit different than the -L and the recoil pad is on the BCG? That true?

Can't wait to see the report.

Well each scope has a purpose and if I was tac-driving with a precision rig it would be a Night Force just like the one on your rifle :) but as I said the Vortex is a pleasant suprise and I bought it by chance not by research and am extreamly happy with the quality for the price. It has an MOA retical so my intent is to use it at 4X to 800 yards and if I can put rounds consistantly into a figure 11 or simular target I will be extatic. I have seen old timers with Lee Enfields and battle sights ring 36" gongs at 1000yrds so Im sure I can reach 800 with the XCR and Vortex scope.

As for comparing to an L, i wouldnt know as I have only shot one in 762X39 and not had it apart. Also by BCG (bolt carrier group?) i am not aware of a recoil pad, or buffer on it. It does have a long stroke gas system with a long recoil spring if that is what you are talking about and I would say it dampens alot of the recoil. There is a good chunk of rubber padding on the end of the FAST stock as well.

I have no doubts that you'll be ringing gongs at 800. If you put some time into load development I'd be excited to see how much the groups can be tightened.

Yes you're correct in Bolt Carrier Group :D.

Is there a black rubber bumper pad on the rear of the lower receiver well when you open the rifle?

The milling question is just me wondering what stock options are on this bad boy, hear that stocks designed specifically for the -L would need some fitting. Then again I look up in this thread and see previous gen NEA stock adapter on disky1's rifle so it looks like everything is good to go.

That's a very slick setup! I like how you have the bipod on an adapter instead of on the rifle. That ERGO grip looks good, never handled one before, what're they like?

I've never been a fan of a stock AR grip, this one fills the hand very nicely and has a natural feel to it. I picked up a bipod adapter but had to make some modifications for it to fit tightly to the xcr with the Versa Pod, basically make some spacers with a washer and some rubber so the contour on the adapter would fit. It is shaped for a Macmillan A5 stock. Now locks up very good and I have full functionality. I set it up so I can swap the bipod from my XCR back to my precision rifles quickly.

Loki I see what you are refering to now and yes it does.
