You used to be able to pick up a decent Winchester or Springfield Armoury M1 Garand in the $400 - $500 area around these parts. And they weren't all that uncommon.
Then enter "Saving Private Ryan" and "Band of Brothers".... now Garands have all but dried up. And when they do show up they are in the $800-$1,000 area. Same kinda thing happened with USGI 1911A-1 .45ACP pistols...
