What do you make of this contraption?

I am curious if anyone has actually seen one of these contraptions used. Any thoughts/idea's from any of you who are engineers?

Part of me 'wants' to believe this would work, but the other part of me who watches 'as seen on tv' commercials sort of believes this to be a waste of money.

Reviews on the internet says it works. And we all know everything on the net is true lol. I am sure someone here has tried it. Was there not something called Har-Bar that was a copy of this strut ?

Why would you need this device? Just look at the amazing factory groups.

the early browning bars( the military ones) had a similar device on the buttstock- it was dropped- end of story
