My girlfriend wants to purchase an AR15 for me but I have to wait and have had a hard time deciding on which one I want. My choices are Stag Arms, Smith & Wesson, Imperial Defence, or what is being called a Norinco the CQ 5.56. Which one should i go with?

Quality vs. cost.... I think you've got them lined up in order of best to worst (relatively speaking). The Stag would probably have the best in country support with ArmsEast here. If I were you, given the choices stated, I'd start with the Stag Arms.

hsld.

Don't pick the Imperial Defense. It's a Norinco CQ refinished by British labour that costs as much/more as/than a 'real' AR.

You have good taste in women, kayakdude. My fiancee just bought me an AR.

The worst thing about Stag is the trouble finding one new. Walter @ ArmsEast was great to deal with, but through no fault of his own his stock is rather limited. Have you considered a Rock River Arms which appears to be in stock at Questar or a Dlask? Personally, I'm kinda shy about spending that much on a Norinco after trying one of their pistols.

Why not consider Armalite? I have owned several over the years and they are superb. Currently, I own all Sabre Defence (3) and they are by far and away the best AR`s I have ever fired. They are a bit pricey though (now about $2200 per) The Armalite would be in around the $1600 mark still.

The Norincos seem to be great deals, but they have a poor finish. Touch up the finish and for the same cost as one of the other ARs you can get a ton of ammo, or a bunch of accessories.

It's going to be a Norinco M4 for me, I don't care about the finish, it just needs to work... I'm waiting on Marstar 'cause I'm a cheap ba$tard and I'm not in a rush for the rifle...

Cheers
