What do you run through your NEA-15 in terms of ammo? 55gr? 62? 75? Hornady? MFS? From what distance? .223 or 5.56? (Try and keep on topic and not a "it's not safe to run 5.56 through .223 and vice versa" thread.) And finally, what are your results at the range?

Hoping to run through some AE Tactical 55gr FMJ, but I might go pick up some cheap Winchester White Box 45gr HP on sale at Wal Mart later today.

How much is it selling for on sale? My bolt 223 loves this stuff.

Its a local sale. I got tipped off on it. There was a water leak and made a few dozen boxes soggy Regular $25 per 50, down to $10 per 50.

Might or might not though. I already have quite two boxes of White Box, and I'm thinking I might order about 500 rounds of AE Tactical 5.56 and 4 AR mags for the NEA I'm picking up today :D

Im curious how the 45gr HP White box works, I heard it doesnt go well in semi-autos but you cant believe everything on the internet :p

I myself have about 1000 AE tactical 55gr FMJ rounds waiting to be fired in my NEA (thats showing up today :D)

I suspect most guys here will chime in and say, "the same thing I run through my AR".

Guys, I have an NEA-15 carbine too, but, last time I checked, it's an AR. Yes, she'll take 5.56 & .223, and most of the time it's 55 grain.

What we really all want to know/see, is who's done any long distance shooting with heavier bullets, as what sets the NEA-15 apart from a lot of other stuff is the 1 in 7" twist they're using.

Let's see some results with handloads. I'm curious how the 14.5" barrels are treating the 75-77 grain loads out past 300.

Let us know how they do in your rifle. From what I understand, 1:7 is too fast a twist for light bullets.

I have only shot 55gn MFS milspec, (their words) and AE tactical 55gn. Both cycle well and group well enough. When SFRC gets some more of that PMC X-Tac 62gn in, I'm going to give that a try.

Mine (14.5) shot fine with the Federal American Eagle 55 gn FMJ, and just bought a wee case of Western Munitions factory reloads at TSE. They use a 55 gn Hornady FMJ too, and it shoots really well. 50 yds max at the indoor range, but very accurate.

Was tempted with the light stuff from Wallyworld, but it doesn't suit the twist and there are better deals to be had.

Anyone try the Norc ammo?

I'll be testing everything I have when I get my 14.5" NEA. Lots of pics, chronographed and 5 shot groups with a Leupold Sniper scope @ 100yds benchrested. From IVI 5.56, AE .223 and handloads from 52gr to 80gr custom bullets of various manufacturers.

PS: Just found some 40gr Nosler BT's too.

What is this "Leupold Sniper Scope" you speak of...??

I've run a few boxes of the PMC X-Tac thru my NEA carbine but don't have any hard data...I can tell you my purely subjective comparison to AE 55gn was that it seemed more accurate. That and it went bang every time ;)

There are individual boxes of X-TAC on the website at the moment.
