Hi

I have a Zeiss Terra 3-9x42mm on my 30-06 and I am thinking of upgrading to a Vortex Viper HS-T 6-24x50 and I am looking for opinions. I intend to hunt in BC a couple times a year, but I spend a lot of time at the range and find that the Zeiss Terra just doesn't give me the magnification or easy adjustment that I want. Thoughts?

Cheers!

I just picked this scope up for my remington 700. I was decided on a vortex viper but wasn't sure which model. After looking through all of them I chose this model. Large audible turrets, good reticle, clear glass, zero stop, and great warranty. I have taken it out twice so far and have no complaints. Dialed in a few adjustments for some longer shots and they were bang on. I would buy another one without thinking twice although my next scope will be a sightron based on reviews from other members. Good luck.

Vortex really hasn't been on my radar much but now with the easy use warranty policy they still offer I do think my next optics purchase will be a Vortex....either oneof the Viper models or the diamondback HP :)

I think dollar for dollar Vortex are overrated especially when compared with Sightron. A number of their scopes are made in the Phillipines (so is one of the Sightrons) which is a country well-known for 1911's but not o much for glass and I've seen a number of the PST models with canted reticles. Having said all that, a LOT of people really do like the Vortex range and with recent warranty changes that effect brands like Sightron the VIP Warranty from Vortex becomes even more important.
