What do you think of the XCR??

I like mine,..there are lots of good and bad feedback on this forum. It is a little front heavy, the trigger is not as nice as I would like,...but it has always worked. I shot the NB provincials (IPSC),..and it worked flawlessly.

I really liked the feel of it. I would buy one if I could afford it. Lol, then I would have something else to sink money into..... lol. Damn addictive guns!!!

Guy was shooting one next to me at a course a little while ago. It shot without any issues all day long, and was definitely capable of being accurate.

Price is a little high, I guess that's the $1000 non-restricted tax ;)

My XCR has been 100% for me. My coworker has roughly 10,000 through his, issue-free, and I'm about 3500 rounds in without a single issue. One of my good buddies has about 18,000 through his.

You'll hear each side on here. It's ultimately up to you.

The New trigger feels great and being left handed I love the new ambi safety and bolt release. Buy one Valashnikov just ask if the ones they got in have the new trigger or not.

Usually the haters show up around page 2 or 3. Personally, I looked at one before I bought my SAN. Still would though I'm holding out for the 7.62x51 version.

I quite enjoy mine. Once I got it home I did the following:
1. Changed the flash hider,
2. Changed the pistol grip (I hate A2 grips)
3. Changed out the front sight pin from that square thing to a thin round one
4. lengthened the butt stock by about 2.5 inches
5. Manufactured a sling swivel from an old 30mm scope ring (Steal) by cutting off the ring part, filing the base flat, drilling and tapping and putting in a sling swivel stud. Took about 45 minutes so its the most expensive sling adapter in the world at about $ 60.00 but its mine and I like it!
Rifle hurt my trigger finger during the suggested "Break in" period of 200 rounds or so but once I turned down the gas system it didn't slap my trigger finger any more.
The trigger on the new ones is far better, smoother, crisper and with a lighter let off, but I've gotton used to mine now. The Ambi safety on the new ones if a nice touch and I really like the bolt release, it makes loading a smooth operation. I would like a ambi mag release, being left handed that would just be easier. I haven't cleaned it since I aquired it, fired about 500 rounds so far no hicups or stopages of any kind.

7.62x51 would be next on my list too but not sure when to expect it. On the Robarm web site they state it's their top priority right now, but that's been for a while now. Being a smaller manufacturer not sure how long it would take to develop a new rifle, but hopefully not too much longer.

i started my xcr fund today. these seem to be a pretty damn good rifle, even if the price is a little steep. being a non restricted aralternative helps me justify the price.

Xcr

:50cal:

The benefit is that it is a piston push breach system. Therefore, few gas clogging issues and reliable ammo feeding. You get what you pay for.
An example of the piston system, is the old F.N. Reliable, to the point and a beast in a bad situation.
Waiting for the 7.62 is a great idea, it has the punch required.
It is an extremely expensive rig, and it is expensive to feed as well, as you begin to shoot it it gets hungrier and cries for more ammo, and you will want to shoot lots of ammo through it.
Sounds like I like shooting don't I.

All guns run on a budget, hows your budget. Take your time and make the right decision for you and your finances.

Remember, if you buy it use it.

I love mine. It was one of the first 25 in Canada and runs flawlessly. My only gripe is the trigger, I will be ordering the new trigger.
