I've had great success with both function & accuracy with Amercian Eagle 40 gr hi-vel & Remington Thunderbolt 40 gr hi-vel ammo in my GSG 1911 pistol.

------------
NAA.

Avoid the urge to sand or file away at any parts. Just don't do it.

I can tell by looking at the pistol there aren't that many rounds through it, there is a break in period and once that indeterminant round count is through the gun, it'll run like a swiss timepiece with anything you feed it. Well, just about anything. I seem to recall having ammo issues with Remington "Thunderbolt" garbage. But even that cra p worked more often than not.

Patience. Shoot.

Clean and lubricate the pistol and it should shoot any ammo well. That's how the Germans make things.
It may not be 1MOA but it still goes bang.
My browning eats any ammo.

I only buy cci mini mags now because of the trouble I had in my other 22s and they work in all mine but if my buddy brings the ammo when we go to the range my GsG eats standard velocity cci just fine, I’ve used cheap Remington from the bucket o bullets also but I got misfires and jams with those

Both of our GSG 1911's needed a considerable amount of shots before the "broke in". Now both of ours will shoot almost anything except Norma TAC-22. My Ruger Mk IV does not shoot the Norma Tac-22 either.

I have the Sig version of your pistol. I used to use mini mags & it ran very well but as the price crept up on the mini mags,, I read an article from CCI that said their 40 gr CCI Blazers were the same bullet, powder charge, casings, same velocity, as the mini mags, except the bullets were not copper washed but left as lubed lead .
They function the same (or better) than mini mags, but are generally $100 to $125 cheaper per case.
And yes, I only buy by the case.

One little trick we used when shooting competitions and the weather got colder and our pistols got ‘sluggish’….ONE drop of oil (3 in 1) on top of the first round in the mag and the next 10 rounds run like chit through a goose. Worked on .22LR and .45
