what do you use for making shot/powder cards?

what materials and tools do yous use for making shot and powder cards for 12gauges?

i have a roll crimper that i use in my drill pres (at slow speeds, does a prety nice job when i get the hang of it) but im wanting to make some "classic" style shells with a over shot card/roll crimped, and also for my old doulbe barrel BP 12g also. i made a couple for a experiment in my 20g and 12g using a old pizza box, but they turned out crapy since i just used a pair of scissors to cut them out.

Milk cartons. I have used them in my modern 12 gauge and in my trade gun.

They are waxed, which is also necessary when using grease cookies in black powder cartridge loads.

To cut the cards, I use a punch set with a lead ingot as an anvil.

ok, thanks. what size of punch is it that you use, so i dont get one a little too big or too small? i maight go to canadian tire and get one today to try it out.

I make my own punches on the lathe, then use them in the drill press to cut the wads.

Thats my method but I bought my punches at Princess Auto and turned the ends to fit in the drill press.

Cereal boxes are good for over shot and something a little heavier for over powder. Ten-test or ceiling tiles for cushion wads.

You know those key cards that you forgot to turn in when you left the hotel........

I used a leather punch a friend gave me many years ago, and cut them from milk cartons. Where he got that big punch I have no idea. I was shooting 16 gauge however.
