what does BPCR stand for?

I entered BPCR into google a few days ago and found a very informative site.;) I'm now very interested in BPCR shooting. Watch out if you decide to look into this subject more, as it seems this type of shooting can take you over.

Its a hoot!! Try knocking over rams at 500m with the big buffalo guns. The high power guys spotting for me would look away from the scope and say they didn't see the hit - then CLANG!! Over they go. Well sometimes anyway. :)

Some of the best shooting fun I've ever had!!

couple of years ago, the wife and I went down to Missoula and shot with Mike Venturino. I had a blast....so did the wife. I got to shoot one of the guys rifles, put down 8 of 10 pigs, and 7 of 7 rams, and ran out of cartridges. I'll post some pics....if I can ever get them onto this pos dell!
Two days later we were in Big Timber and the wife bought me a Sporter #1 from Shiloh in 45-70.

LeRoy.
p.s..... greatest bunch of people you could meet!!

Check this out if you are looking for a modern day Sharps rifle: ://www.shilohsharps.com (Put the http in.)

This is what first got me interested in these amazing rifles, this was on an old episode of Ripley Believe it or Not: ://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b59f573156 (Put the http in.)

I hope I get to see one of these rifles at that gun show in Edmonton February 2nd and 3rd.

Don't sell the BPCRs short either, they make formidable hunting rifles, some have more Taylor K.O. values then the modern magnums.

Re:answer

Never heard of BPCR refered to a British army unit, maybe you are thinking about this junkman?:

Pacific Coast Militia Rangers (PCMR)

Brutus.......I was just kidding. There is no such unit at all. Its just so many members ask vague questions on this form it leaves me wondering if they do any research at all before posting.

There is no such thing as a stupid or odd question. What better place to get research than by asking those who know? We should be a little more considerate to those with a question. ;)

pharaoh2.........I never used the words "stupid" or "odd" when it came to questions. I said "vague" which means unclear or not enough information. I don’t mind helping anyone when it comes to questions. I’m just saying how do you answer: I’ve got Grandpas old .303 what is it worth? I’m selling an old Winchester how much should I get for it? There is a letter “D” stamped on my Enfield what does it stand for? How do you answer these types of questions with any meaning? My point is the more information a member gives about the item in question the more accurate the answers will be. Also in today’s digital age it is so easy to send some pictures.

Thanks guys, I was looking through a buffalo arms catalogue and seen a 1885 BPCR 45/70 and just wondered what BPCR ment I dident think it was a vague guestion I think cgn is better than google any day this place is full of great information, and for those of you who think my question was vague keep your eyes open because I'm going to ask more vague questions in the future!
Matt
