Parker Hale, BSA, and Churchill all took Lee Enfields and sporterized them for the civilian market. Particularly, Parker Hale made several different grades of sporter and (alas) yours is one of the lowest grade. Hereabouts, they sell for $175-$225. depending on condition.

Thank you, i wasn't expecting anything special of it but for it to be a fun shooter and at 175-225 i feel good for what i paid for it.

Like all modern firearms made or converted for sale in the UK, it was proofed at the Birmingham Proof House [London Proof House for guns at the other end of the country]. If you look you'll see BNP - Birmingham Nitro Proof, a stamp of two crossed sceptres or similar, with code letters and numbers, depending on the date of proof, and the stamp 19.5 tons per inch [square sign] and the length of the cartridge case in imperial measurements - 2.2 inches, I think.

I've been shooting one of these rifles since 1960, and it's just fine.

If any of your images show this already, please overlook my comment - I can't see your images because of regional licensing disagreements.
