What exactly do you look for when purchasing an SKS?

Besides the obvious visual wear and tear, is there anything else?
Any common broken areas to look out for?

if you can take out the bolt.. give it a shake to make sure the firing pin isn't seized.
and remove the gas tube to check the piston for free movement
