What features to look for in a binocular harness/suspender

Like the title says. Are there features to look for or is it just a matter of $?
Design? The ones I've looked at all seem much the same.
Durability?
Also, anyone have favorites they use and keep using and why?

I've been using the Binopack by Alaska Guide Creations for the last couple of years. Pretty hard to beat IMO.

You're welcome. It's the old Butler Creek one. I'm sure there have been some better ideas since, but I'm too cheap to replace it when it isn't broken. And that's just for my big binos, Bushnell 7x50 Marine. More and more often I choose to use my much smaller Minox 6.5x32 that I carry in a pouch on my belt.

Unless you know that you are dead set on a harness, you should try carrying your binos slung over one shoulder, with the unit hanging under your opposite arm, just above the waist. This keeps them from bouncing and swinging when you walk or run, affords them some protection, and is very quick to bring to your eye for observation, or to swing around behind your hip if you are busting brush or crawling.

I carry mine this way on a thin leather strap, and I find it much better than a harness. It goes on or off in a split second (harnesses are slow) and it doesn't interfere with ventilation because it doesn't plaster my shirt down against my body the way a harness does. It's worth a try.

consider one that has floatation built in.. That way if you drop bino's in water, you can get them back.

I was not thinking of the ventilation aspect. Very interesting. Thanks.
 
I use a set of Bushnell straps that work well for me.
I put on a set of split rings on the binos so the strap clips
are easy to clip on and off.
Sometimes I shove one bino lense into my shirt front
so they are easy to grasp.
These straps are a bit older and don't have that big plastic
molded thing that sits on your back.
I find these straps are way easier on the neck.
 
I have the Leupold Olympic binos with a Leupold harness. The harness is my second because I cheaped out on the first ones and they were done after the first year. The elastic disintegrated. I don't know how long it sat in the store.
I have the harness because I hunt when its cold and the binos are inside my insulated covies. I would stick with a name brand not some generic brand.
 
Check out the S4 and Kuiu bino harnesses. Both keep the weight on your shoulders, hold the binos tight to your chest when crawling and have covers that keep your lenses clean but allow easy access to the binocular.
 
I decided to order a FHF gear harness and the thing is awesome. The fit on this rig is much better than my buddies S4 I tried on and is actually comfortable. It doesn't feel like you are being suffocated by elastics. They have three different sizes and the mediums fit my Zen-Rays to a T.
