CONFESSIONS OF A GLOCKAHOLIC:
To date I've owned approximately 18 Glocks.
[ who really keeps track of all the Glocks they've owned?? ].
I currently own a Gen 3.5 G35 and a Gen 3.5 G31,
both of them set up to shoot 9mm, .357 SIG, .40 S&W, and .22 LR. For me, a FULL SIZED Gen 3 or Gen 3.5 Glock, set up for FOUR calibers, is the best, most versatile choice. A Glock that comes originally with a .40 caliber sized slide, is easily converted to .357 SIG with a simple barrel swap and to 9mm with a barrel swap and a 9mm G17 magazine. A Glock that starts out as a 9mm can not be upgraded to .40 or .357 SIG without obtaining another EXPENSIVE slide ....
which is the main reason why I no longer buy 9 mm Glocks.
If I was forced to pick just one Glock, for me the G23 provides the best compromise between BALANCE, ACCURACY, AND CONCEALABILITY [ I have a US CCW, so concealability is a valid issue ]. Unfortunately, here in Canuckistan, the .22 LR AA conversion kits for the G23 are pretty well impossible to get. So, to allow me to shoot .22 LR, I chose the the full sized frame G22 instead of the smaller G23.
But then, if you have a G22, you might as well get a G27, which conceals so much better. And after a few months of the squirmy little G27, you decide you need to get the G35 .... because, after all, it is so much easier to shoot accurately with the longer sight radius, and because .357 SIG and 9mm really start to zip along with the extra barrel length.
Then you find that, after all, you really are shooting just the G35,
mostly in .22 LR,
so the standard sized G22 and the shorty G27 might as well get sold.
AGAIN!!!
Repeat, over and over again, until finally sanity prevails!!!
[And you wondered why any one would have owned 18 Glocks?? ]
These days, I shoot my G35, mostly in .22 LR. But I really like the power and flat trajectory that .357 Sig has. So I can probably justify getting another GLOCK CARBINE conversion kit. Or perhaps, building up a dedicated AR that takes Glock mags .... and while I'm at it, why not make it in .357 SIG?
Yep,
Glockaholism ...
a sad and sorry tale of addiction.
Take my advice,
avoid ALL the Glocks ....
