What guns have been used in torture tests ?

The only two handguns I can think of are the Glocks and USPs .Are there any other well known high round tests ?

Not to mention that manufacturers cherry pick their "press guns" and probably have their top gunsmith go over them with a loupe to make sure that everything is fit and finished perfectly. Guns sold to the consumer are rarely afforded the same privilege.

Agreed. Magazine reviews are almost advertising. If they give a bad review the manufacturer would probably have a hissy fit and never supply the magazine a test gun again......

Any service pistol currently in service with an army was torture tested as part of the selection process. Different countries, units have differing criteria. Some good guns are excluded because they don't have a required feature. You need to consider what was requested, what was tested and what criteria were given the most weight.

I recall a glock being torture tested (10-15,000 rounds) and a lot of goofy stuff being done to it (dropped in sand, and out of a plane) by some guy on the net. Then another guy did the same with an XD.

Every modern semiauto has been torture tested during its design and pre-production phases, and pistols that have bad habits get a lot of flack on the net very quickly (Glock KB's anyone?) so you'd hear about them. For the most part companies don't release faulty firearms since the gun community is so adept at communicating a product's shortcomings due to word of mouth an the net.
