What Handgun and Why?

The hardest part of “buy all of the guns you will need for the rest of your life” is that I don’t really need all of those guns at once.

- I would like to try IPSC. But do I want Production or Classic or Open? Do I like it enough for a $$$ race gun (and backup?) or will a single shadow 2 be enough.

- I would like to try cowboy shooting with a pair of 45colts, and also learn proficiency with a pair of 22LR, but do I need 4 guns right now? I wanted to try this when I retire, maybe selling my IPSC backup to fund

- I would like to try black powder, but that might be something I buy used and sell after a few sessions.

- I would like to try all the Striker pistols….I love buying and selling on the EE to experience different options.

- I would like to teach my kids to shoot, and to get them their own 9mm or revolver when they are old enough to enjoy

- I would like to build a custom 1911 but have a matching 22 to practice with less ammo

So many things to try in this hobby, and it’s not realistic to buy all I need in one summer, and then store 20+ hand guns that might not get used for a decade plus.

1. IMI Jericho 941F Hard Chrome Israeli police surplus - I always just liked the look of these and the fact that it can use my Shadow 2 mags was a bonus.
2. Beretta 92S Italian police surplus - A rather iconic gun and at $400 it was hard to say no.
3. Ruger Wrangler - A cheap single action revolver that will be a fun plinker.
4. Walther OSP - A solid target pistol though outdated.
5. Vostok Margolin - Another great outdated target pistol. Also the weapon of choice for Princess Leah. lol.
6. Vostok Margolin - Just frame and barrel.
7. Norinco Type 54 - Why not add a TT-33 to the collection? Also picked up the 9mm conversion kit.
8. Girsan MC P35 Hi-Power - Always wanted a Hi-Power but didn't want to spend over $1k to get one.
9. Ruger Blackhawk in .357 Mag - Wanted to get a .357 Mag revolver in double action but got it for almost half price on it in auction with a holster.
10. Walther P38 - Been meaning to get one of these for a while and got it cheap in auction.
11. Stoeger Luger - Not a real Luger but meh, close enough.

Bonus (I picked up this year as well but before the announcement)
12. Beretta Mod. 71 Target - looked cool and was small like a Walther PP/PPK.
13. Walther/Manurhin PP Sport - Always wanted a Walther PP/PPK but I never expected to find a restricted one. I was supper happy when I found this even though it had an 8" long barrel.

Before all this I already had a CZ Shadow 2 OR, Walther PPQ Q4 Match OR, Bersa Thunder 22 and a Webly & Scott Mark IV.
