Hey guys. I'm currently in Naples Florida. Going to head out to The Alamo Gun Range here. I'm gonna go shoot some handguns.

First one I'm dying to shoot is the Springfield Echelon. God willing the stupid handgun freeze will be over in the election, I want this baby. So I have to shoot it.

Next I figure I'll shoot a gun for concealed carry. I can pretend I'm free for abit. Any recommendations? I'm thinking something like a Glock 26 or something similar 🤔

Anything else you guys would recommend? Maybe a snubnose?

I'd be interested in #### that I either can't shoot here, or have troubles justifying the cost to shoot here. Basically I'd be looking at the two ends of the spectrum - little stuff like pocket pistols in 380acp and snubnose revolvers, and big stuff like Desert Eagle and 454 Casull and bigger revolvers.

You'll have lots of choice no doubt. Without seeing what is on tap, hard to suggest but I'd be looking for the unusual stuff too as suggested

Meh, snubby revolvers and little short barrel pistols aren't anything special. They typically just recoil more, and a lot of the really small stuff just handles poorly. There's this allure around things we can't have, but that doesn't make them better (Same reason Americans revere SKSs, whereas here they're just garbage rods).

I have this thing with big handguns, lol. I have a .50AE Desert Eagle, and a .460 Magnum revolver. Would highly recommend both as long as you don't have weak wrists, they're both a riot to shoot.

That or some Gucci 2011, a Laugo Alien if they have it, or other stuff that most people won't own due to cost.

Desert Eagle 50 AE., and a S&W 500 Mag. Everyone's gotta try these two, sometime before they croak.

Presuming of course that you have all ready shot a S&W Model 29 in either a 6 or 8 3/8 " barrel.

Well they didn't have anything as for the large Calibers so I didn't shoot anything very exciting. Shot an Springfield Hellcat. Definitely something I would consider carrying. Shot the Echelon also. A gun I would buy.

What is interesting is the different vibe of the people. My kind of people.

I write up some more on the experience when I get back.

I realize this is after the fact now but....
Last time I was in the U.S. I fired a little miniature 1911 in 9mm. Pretty sure it was a Sig. I was really surprised how pleasant it was to shoot and how accurate it was. The fellow running the range said his wife carried the same gun but in .380
