What happened to the Stens ?

A while back there were some prominent sten threads with people building closed bolt jobs. If my memory serves me right they were being sent somewhere to get approved, or not as the case may be, but nothing has been posted since. Did they get accepted, or is that still in process ?

As for my open bolt effort, I still have it and I have heard nothing from anyone. And what's more I could not care less

There is one, possibly two incredibly long threads in this section devoted to the topic. They were approved. If you want to get anywhere with the CFC you have to call them a lot. They answer emails faster once you've called them though.

One gentleman has received the registration certificate for the finished firearm, but is currently out of province, will be going to the range upon his return. The other was waiting for the cert, but is in the CF and has been out of the country; doubt that there will be any update until after his return to Canada. Nothing posted on this site since the beginning of June, more up to date information has been posted elsewhere.
It is my understanding that there are other builds in progress, but I have no idea about their status.

For interest's sake, I will be parkerizing mine this Saturday. It's approved, the cert is issued as a completed restricted firearm. Time permitting, I will test fire this weekend, but my camera's broken so not sure if I can get video sorted out...?

My last update was that they needed to know "why" I wanted the rifle....which I passed on as "Target Shooting".

So, I expect I'll get my paperwork at some point while I'm at sea this month.

C2, do you need a new camera? I have an old one (3MP) that does still and video that I can send ya if you want it.

NS: That's ok, I have a $3000 DSLR that works great. It's just my cheapo $200 Canon that broke after my wife dropped it. Problem is, the DSLR doesn't shoot video, the cheap on did! LOL
