I can only find 18 inch barrel version of VZ on the market.

Just curious, what happened to 15.4" inch barrel length version? I know the converted receiver ban, but it has nothing to do with barrel length right?

Why there is no shorter barrel version on Canadian market? I love the following version

Quite simple actually. Majority of the 858s became prohibited. Owners needed a rifle to replace it. Enter the NR CSA Vz58. They basically flew off the shelves last year and the restricted models didn't move. I remember seeing 11.5" versions on sale for $600. It seems North Sylva decided to bring in NR versions only as of late considering they sold so many in the past.

I also see the fixed stock versions are arriving again.

Don't quote me. But I believe CZ were 18.5" and the mentioned 15.4". Due to the prohibition all the 18.5's got sold to mike in Canmore. But the restricted models can not be sold or transferred. In other words the CFO's have the owners by the balls as they know exactly where these models are. CSA does have the odd 12.5" and 7.5" out there still.

They only time I have ever seen a 11.8" csa sell for $ 600 or cheaper was 223 version and from Wolverine (I could be wrong from a different dealer). As I stated before in the other thread the OP asked in, CSA does in fact make the 15.5 " rifles. I guess someone needs to ask North Sylva if they can bring in the 15.5 " csa rifles.

Wolverine blew them out for $399. I believe they were the importer at the time and dropping the brand. Next closest was not to long ago, SFRC was selling .223 only for $659 (give or take $10)

And thank you for correcting me on the 15.5"
