I have fallen asleep a few times in the blind.
Only to have my buddy come running over and ask "why didnt you shoot?"
Ahh brings a tear to my eye.

Twice I've been on the verge of nodding off when a buck pretty much walked right up to me.

Here's my "snooze" experience [about 10 years ago.]

Hunted from first light till 11:00 AM. Saw game, but nothing legal.
Back to my 4x4, parked on an old landing in a large slash.
Slash has young pine growing in it, mostly 3-4' tall.

Eat my sandwich, drink a coffee...feeling a bit tired.
Lay my head back on the seat, and pass out for a bit.

Wake up, look in the driver's door Rear view mirror...whoa!!

Standing right behind the pickup is a very nice 4x3 muley. [legal]
Pulled the keys [so no buzzer], waited till he was out of sight behind pickup.
Slowly eased my frame out of the pickup, loaded my 300 Savage, and just waited.

Sure enough, out from behind the truck he comes, 35 feet away.
150 Partition through the lungs...he didn't make it off the landing.

Pretty easy, that one.
Nice to receive a gift once in a while.

Thats where I get most of my quality sleeping done lol. Fallen asleep more then a few times in the blind in the cold Sk winters
