what if I don't have a car?

this thought just occured to me today, I had my vehicle to repairshop and rode bus for half a day. I was thinking - there probably are people who doesn't have vehicle to get around city. How do they supposed to bring their guns to the range? In a backpack? Wouldn't that be "carrying" rather than "transporting"? Or having no vehicle automatically means no handguns are allowed by default?

Carry the hand gun in a backpack, in a briefcase, in a lunch box.....you can transport it all over the city on a bus, on a bike, in a taxi, walking, as long as you are on a direct and reasonable route to a range....just make sure the item is secured as per the CFC regs. and you carry your "papers"

Unless you're in Quebec. They seem to believe they more power than they actually have regarding firearms transport laws....

Lock it up and throw it in your backpack. I don't seem to remember seeing anything about backpacks in the regs.

In Calgary I used public transit to get everywhere (was a one car family) including going to the range, to the police station with my newly aquired toys etc.

I just chucked them into my briefcase and no one was the wiser

I have used my bicycle to get to and from the range. Good cross training LOL.
