I have used several
- Parker Hale, with a internal magazine and no floor plate. It was a good shooter, not very practical for "truck hunting", or if you are the type of hunter that shoots alot and hits little or needs 5 or more shots to bring down an animal.

I usually shot 4-5" at 200yrds with this one.
-Tikka T3, detachable magazine with available 5 shot mags, comes factory with a 3 shot. Really good shoter, acurate out of the box. Mine came with an adjustable trigger, lowest setting was 1.5 to 2lbs. I shoot 3.5" @ 200yrds with this one, with a bushnell 3200 scope on it. I have been told that if you are going to reload for accuracy and performance the Tikka action is not the "strongest" available. For this reason I just traded it in on a Remington Model 700.
-Remington Model 700, detachable magazine, 4 shot mags only. I just brought this one home yesterday, so I have no idea how it shoots but the action is stronger than the Tikka (supposedly). It came with the new X-mark Pro Trigger and the trigger is about 2.5lbs. I am pretty sure I will like this one I now Have 3 Remington model 700's in my safe... the other 2 are good shooters, solid actions, crisp trigger pull. All around a very good hunting rifles, I will be very surprised if this one isn't as well.
All in all you can't go wrong with a Browning x-bolt, Remington Model 700, Tikka T-3, Savage or Winchester model 70. All are very fine rifles.
If you want a semi-auto.... I can't tell ya a thing about them... The only semi's I have are in .22
Good luck, Hope this helps
