You might consider the 1911 style pistol for a convertible.
The Norinco 9mm NP-29 ( if you can find one) has a standard 1911A1 frame. this frame will accept all/any of the .22LR top-ends, including the original Colt Ace conversion.
Some conversions are more/less accurate than others.
The big plus here is that other than caliber and felt recoil, nothing else changes.
Well, maybe the cost of each trigger pull.
Changing over only takes a minute or two.
Having said that.
separate, dedicated pistols are the best way to go.
After all. Would you play golf with only a single club in the bag?
