Hi All,

I bought a Winchester 1300 12 GA in 1997 (hunting configuration), that is in almost new condition because it has sat in my gun safe for 13 years. Never been used for hunting and only ever shot at my indoor range...like 50 times.

Because they stopped making / selling this shotgun I don't really know what it would be worth if I were to sell it today.

Any ideas ?

Here is a stock photo of the shotgun

Ooops. Sorry guys...I should have just checked the EE before posting this question. From what I saw for sale there that is identical / similar...I am guessing around $350 ?

325$ for a new one with all three choke tube, in stock configuration. Add 25$ or so for 20 gauge, add 50$ for upland special or rifled slug gun.

I agree with Turkeyslayer. Around $325 is what it's worth, if your selling it on the EE here you may have trouble finding someone who will pay you what it's worth though. People seem to have a love hate relationship with the 1200/1300s. (Personaly I love them)

I hated my 1200 as it would allow two shells back on firing the one in the barrel casing a double feed jam.Sent to Cobourg twice to be repaired never did work.Dumped it.A friend has one and same $hit.............not for free...................Harold

OP is asking about the 1300

Personally I like the 120 Rangers and the 1300's. The 1200's seem to have alot of problems, same with the 2200's .

I bought a M1200 winchoke new about 1974 when i was 16. No PAL, no registration, no s**t. Showed my driving license to the clerk, payed the $79.95 sticker price and walked out the door with it.

It was my only shotgun for over 15 years, when i got a M1300 20 gauge to keep it company. Now I have O/U, sxs, autos. But I still use the 1200 regularly.

My 1200 never had a failure of any kind, ever. Maybe i just don't use my eqmt hard enough to break it??? I know it saw over a 1000 rounds a year when i was young, single, and lived in duck hunting paradise, because i regularly bought 4 flats of Imperials every fall and a few boxes of lighter loads for grouse. Estimate 12K - 15K rounds (probably a lot more) without a hiccup. I must be the luckiest guy in the world. :p

Jethunter I have never actually seen a 1200 or 1300 malfunction in person, but going by what the internet gun-owners ;) say they were more prone to problems. I would take a new in box 1300 (or 1200) over a new in box Remington 870 any day, even a Wingmaster there I said it.
