Ok, so we all agree that the AR-15 in its many configurations qualifies as a black/green rifle. But what I'm really interested in knowing is:

1 Whats the difference between a black and a green rifle/
2 What other Black/Green rifles are out there (180B (whatever that is) for example)
3 Is the AR-15 a black or green rifle.

I know this seems pretty silly, but I was asking myself these questions and couldn't really honestly answer them, so I'm putting it up to you guys/girls.

I could be wrong, but:

1: one is black colour and one is green colour
2: any semi-auto civilianized military rifle. (AR-15, SL8, G36, PS-90, Tavor, etc)
3: Ar-15's are generally black, but can have green, tan, or other colour stocks, grips, handguards, etc.

Black Rifle is a slang term for the modern military type firearms, mostly because they are all black.

Green was added because lots of them we're also green.

Then ya gots the blue special and the classic green:D What makes blue so special and the green so classic. I hate both colours.:runaway: I much prefer the subdued dark earth or a nice desert tan:dancingbanana: OD is pretty good too if it's dark enough.

i think the real question is when are they going to finally dip into pastels or vibrant colours for those that want to colour coordinate their ar with their shoes, belt or tie?

Actually it's normally attributed to the Vietnamese, they didn't like what the "Black Rifle" did to it's targets.
