I may have a line on a Winney "94, an old one, rifle, chambered in .32-40, that has fairly nice wood, no cracks, good metal, no pitts or surface rust that I could see, and the lever looks to be polished nicely.
Is it worth the $800 the guy is asking for it? The receiver has some scroll engraving as well.

My great grandfathers Winchester 94 saddle ring carbine in 38-55 is appraised at $1150, about 400 to 500 or more in the US of A...... in it's current used beat up shape...... But GGF bought it in 190? in Seattle before heading up to Alberta via Alaska after being discharged from the US army after returning from Cuba. Where he was a decorated officer in the army. He was even mentioned in a diary/journal of Teddy's. Thus the inflated price tag of the rifle. So there is 'more' to GGF rifle that just a old used Winchester Lever. So put the value of a simular rifle at about $1250 (Blue book of gun values) if its in 90% or better.

The Alberta Commemerative one I have to 'compliment' the original is new in original packaging unfired and valued at about $750 if the prices I see on the internet and g-shows are any indication.

Cheers!
