What is it worth Remington 40x

Not sure of the year could be early 60s or 80s not sure I'm interested in possibly buying it but have no idea the value of these. It's a stainless bull barrel with iron sites. It can hold three rounds. Any info on what it is exactly would be awesome.

A rather unique rifle... highly customized after it left the factory I think... what markings are on the barrel? It may not be a Remington barrel... I have never seen one like it before. It should have slightly more value than a 700 action set up the same way due to the 40X markings. 40X's as single shot only have a higher value.

Its a Remington 40 XC (across the course) rifle. Its all factory Remington incuding the stock and barrel. Underneath the rear scope mount the reciever should be clip slotted.
The sights mounted on it are not factory installed. They are Remington sights but from their line of hunting rifles and put on after the fact. Why is a different matter!?

Is it missing the hand stop ? It must be five rounds. From what I've been able to find tonight it looks like a 40-Xc national Match repeater. What do you guys think it's worth it has a small scratch in the stock.

You can buy a handstop from Champions Choice or Champions Shooter Supply. The 40X handstops were not that great. It looks to be in very nice shape price range from $1200-$1500. Not a huge market so maybe offer$1000. I think the original iron sights were Redfield iron sights.

I have the same rifle. $1200 would be fair, $1000 is a deal. - dan
