looking for my first deer rifle

checking out all of the specs..... can someone explain to me what "rate of twist" is!!!!!!!

thanx

the number of twist of rifling per inch. ie 19 to 1 would be one full spin in 19 inches. Heavier bullets usually need a higher rate of twist to achieve stability. The trade of for more spin is less muzzle velocity in most cases. Note that a higher rate of spin has a lower number. 16 to one is a higher rate of twist than 19 to one.

Hope that helps

It is the distance (in inches) down the barrel in which the rifling completes a revolution. Faster twists are required for longer (and hence usually heavier) bullets. Increased velocity can somewhat make up for slower twists with heavier bullets.
