what is the best 1911 under 1000

It is going to be my first 1911--i am ok with a used gun--there is so many choices but which would you recommenf for a newbie and something that is cool and classy

My RIA Tactical ran me under a grand including taxes, extra mags and a number of boxes of ammo. After a few hundred rounds, she runs like a top and is much easier to shoot accurately than my Glock.

Yep, brand new Kimber for under $1000. STI or Smith and Wesson would be good choices too, either new or a bit used. Colts of course can be great too. Those are ones I've had good experiences with.

They must be here already as I examined one at the CRPC two weeks ago. Seems pretty good manufacture quality, trigger was relatively crisp but extremely heavy - like 8 - 10 pounds.

if you are looking at 9mm for under 1000$ id say the STI spartan

I would recommend the Spartan as well - Gunnar at Armco will fix you up. Excellent value 1911 with a ton of features for 750 ish

The STI Spartan is the way to go and the place to buy it from is Roger at Shooters Choice Alberta. You will not be sorry with the gun or dealing with Roger he is great.
