Just like the title says. What is the cost of a good bedding Job?
You know for a good reputable gunsmith to bed your rifle. I have a model 12 Savage 2 bolt action using aluminum sleeves etc. and the stock is a laminate bvss style.

I do not think I have it in me to do myself. when it come to finesse I can be all thumbs.

Thanks

Buy the 65 dollar acriglass kit and do it yourself. I'm no gunsmith but i've done 5 so far and they've all come out near perfect. Just use alot of mold release and make sure to plug all the holes with the clay provided. One kit usually does 2-3 rifles as well. I believe a pro job is between 100 to 150 bucks.

The difference between a good bedding job, and a bad one can be very hard to spot without. The difference between a bad bedding job and a good one can be very easy to spot on the other hand.

I got one rifle back from a reputable smith with a big frikin chip in it where he did not use enough release agent on the recoil lug, and it snagged on the removal. Beats the hell out of me as to how it could have left the show without him noticing.
